I'm a mom, an investment management professional, a writer, a writing/career coach, and last but not least, a 90's kid. I have proven adept at several key areas of being an adult thus far, but I'm aware enough to know that I've still got a lot to figure out.
My aim is to channel my inner Clarissa Darling and share my learnings with you in a helpful and potentially even humorous way. While there are no constraints on my musings, I am primarily focused on ever-perplexing topics of personal finance, career development, and last but not least, being a mom.
Emily Oster is an economist and parent of two who aims to make pregnancy and parenting less stressful and less confusing by providing hard data to inform decisions. I've been a devotee of hers since I was pregnant back in 2018, and highly recommend both of her books - Expecting Better and Cribsheet.
However, I only recently discovered that she had a regular newsletter called Parent Data. I've found this quite useful as of late as I've wanted to be informed regarding children and COVID-19, but not necessarily trusted everything I see in the news nor wanted to spend much time sifting through what's accurate. Emily has lots of non-COVID nuggets as well, and appears to have a wonderfully dorky sense of humor. Win win!
